David Newey
(Guitar, Vocals)
David is a guitarist, songwriter, and
singer currently performing with Tom, Christi Andropolis, and
with the group Rubus. In the past few years he has also played
with folk five piece Nandobinyan and roots rock band Arlen; with
vocalist Lucy Rutherford he was a finalist in the Young
Traditional Musician of the Year contest 2003.

Phil Murray
(Acoustic Bass Guitar)
Phil introduced the acoustic bass guitar
to the live music scene more than 30 years ago and is acknowledged
as its finest exponent. His unique and innovative style adds power,
drive and sensitive accompaniment.
A founder member of the legendary
Hedgehog Pie and folk rockers Jack the Lad,
he also records and tours with the Doonan Family Band. Phil has
played major venues and festivals all over the world.

Shona Kipling
(Accordion)
Shona began playing accordion aged eleven winning
competitions run by Comhaltas and became UK champion
twice, played in three all-Ireland finals and was a
finalist in the BBC Young Folk Awards. Shona was the
only female and only traditional musician out of 2000
applicants to be awarded the first BBC Fame Academy
Bursary. She graduated from Newcastle University with a
first class degree in folk and traditional music.
Playing a mixture of Irish, English, Scandinavian
and self-penned material she recorded her debut CD "Pure
Chance" and later “Box On” which earned Shona a
nomination for the Horizon award in the BBC Folk Awards.
Both albums have received excellent reviews.

Andy Watt
(Guitar, mandolin)
Andy is a
talented young guitar and mandolin player from Central Scotland.
Currently studying on the acclaimed traditional music degree at
Newcastle University, he is making a name for himself in the UK as a
performer, working with a wide range of musicians. Andy is also a
keen teacher and has recently been doing some work with Fčisean nan
Gŕidheal, promoting Gaelic music and culture in schools around the
Forth Valley area."

Peter Tickell
(Fiddle, Viola)
Newcastle's most talented and exciting new fiddler -
Peter was a finalist
in Radio 2's, "Young Folk Awards" of 2001. Since leaving school
in Summer 2004, Peter has toured extensively throughout Great
Britain, Europe, North America and as far afield as Hong Kong.
Having worked with Peatbog Faeries, Evelyn Glennie, Billy
Mitchell and Ben Murray & Rosie Doonan amongst others, his
musical influences are varied and eclectic. He is also currently
a member of the Kathryn Tickell Band. |
